One of our theatres is a Digital i-Suite with inter-connectivity to the seminar room, offering updated technology both in surgery and for training purposes. Our hospital provides a comprehensive range of private surgical facilities. Our professionally and highly skilled team enjoy the challenge offered by a dynamic range of surgical specialties.
Staff participation in ongoing training and education is actively supported and encouraged. Theatre lists run over week days, with morning lists generally starting from 0800 hours and afternoon lists scheduled to end at 1800 hours. Theatre staff are rostered to lists rather than shifts. Saturday work is very infrequent.
Regular audits are undertaken as part of our quality assurance programme. We have a great team of proactive staff who are included in ongoing quality initiatives.
Our PACU is spacious and well equipped, with eight fully monitored bed spaces. The work is challenging and stimulating with a mixed case load including complex and innovative surgical procedures.
We are a small friendly team rostered for shifts Monday to Friday, where we work cohesively to ensure optimum care for the vulnerable patients entrusted to our care. Our team is well supported by the anesthetists and consultants, and together we are committed to quality and excellence, which is evident in our high standard of care.
Qualified and experienced nursing staff provide high-quality clinical care. Which is why we actively encourage our staff to participate in ongoing training and education.
Throughout the year Royston Hospital is visited by trainee doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and physiotherapists. An essential part of their training is contact with patients, which occurs only under the direct supervision of senior staff or consultants. Such contact, obviously, requires the support and consent of the patients involved and this is very much appreciated by trainees and senior staff.
