About Dr Ewan Fraser
Ewan commenced practice in Hawke’s Bay in 2005 and for over ten years he was Head of the Ophthalmology Department at Hawke’s Bay Hospital.
He has undertaken complex cataract surgery including traumatic, small pupil, uveitic and post-vitrectomy.
Ewan delivered the first injection treatments for macular degeneration in the region and was instrumental in setting up the public ARMD service. He also has extensive experience in managing diabetic retinopathy and other retinal conditions.
Specialist training:
Ewan trained in the UK gaining further experience in Australia and then New Zealand.
