Alex is a New Zealand-trained orthopaedic surgeon specialising in spinal surgery, hip, and knee replacements. He also has an interest in general orthopaedic conditions, including carpal tunnel, cubital tunnel, and hand conditions. After qualifying as an orthopaedic surgeon, he completed fellowship training in New Zealand and Australia. He then worked as a spinal surgeon at the Royal Adelaide Hospital before returning home to Hawkes Bay with his family.
In his clinical practice, Alex is dedicated to providing advanced care for spine, hip and knee conditions, using modern techniques to improve patient outcomes. His experience in spinal surgery enhances his comprehensive approach to orthopaedic care, allowing him to address a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, working in both the public and private sectors.
Beyond his clinical work, Alex is committed to surgical education. As an educator with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons, he plays an important role in training and mentoring emerging surgeons, demonstrating his dedication to both clinical excellence and the advancement of the field through educational leadership. For relaxation, he has an interest in flying, golfing, motorsports, and fly-fishing.
